The short version
This website uses the cookies it needs to work. With your permission, it also uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. We do not use advertising cookies or marketing pixels, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not share your browsing with anyone for marketing. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Some are essential for a site to work at all. Others remember your choices, or help the owner understand how the site is used.
Cookies we always use
- Strictly necessary cookies. The website software may set a small number of cookies so that pages load correctly, a form you are completing behaves properly and the site is protected against automated abuse. These are needed for the site to work and are not used to identify you.
- Your cookie choice. When you choose Accept, Deny or your own preferences, the site remembers that choice so that it does not ask you on every page. It uses these cookies, all set by this website only:

Analytics cookies, only if you agree
If you choose Accept, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: how many people visit, which pages they read, whether they watch our videos and whether the contact form is used. Google Analytics sets two cookies:

Your browser may delete these cookies sooner. Chrome, for example, limits every cookie to 400 days.
Our Google Analytics retention setting is 2 months. It applies to user and event data — the records of individual visits and actions linked to these cookies. Google deletes that data once it is older than 2 months, through its monthly deletion process. The setting does not affect aggregated reports, such as total page views in a month; these do not identify you and are kept in our Google Analytics account.
We have switched off Google’s advertising features, including Google Signals and advertising personalisation. Google Analytics never receives what you type into our contact form. If you choose Deny, Google Analytics does not load at all and these cookies are not set.
Changing your mind
Use the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of any page to see or change your choice. If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics stops straight away and its cookies are deleted from your browser. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working, including the contact form.
For people who administer this site
If you administer this website, WordPress sets cookies to keep you signed in. The site owner’s own devices may also carry a small marker, stored in the browser, so that his visits are left out of the figures. None of this is set for ordinary visitors.
